My 19 Year Old Son passed away almost 2 years ago. Yesterday our family pet was lying on the floor facing the empty dining room and started wagging her tail like she was happy to see somebody, only no one was there!
First I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your son.I believe that pets have a sixth sense that pick up things. Spooky yes. I have a dog that can predict a storm before it ever reaches us. Needless to say he also knows if it involves lightning. He goes nuts and you know to get ready. Spirits or Ghosts my guess if they are out there Yes!
There is no doubt dogs can percieve things which operate outside of our five senses; dog whistles are the proof of this so yes.
I think it's possible. My dog will sometimes stare into a corner and bark for no reason. It might be nothing, but it makes you think.
LOL It's funny this question came up. Our dogs are always looking in the kitchen/dining room and barking at no one there. About 2-3 weeks ago our 3 month old puppy was petrified in a coner crying while our other dog barked and barked into the kitchen. Poor thing, took me almost 10 min to settle him down.
Dogs can usually see spirits, mostly they can sense their presence. An animal who was around a person in life will be able to recognize that persons spirit, so it may have been your son. Cats and children are far more receptive than our canine friends. Ya, like totally! they have proven this like all the time! My dog Roxie (recently dececed) one day got out of my house and ran up to my cuzes house and suddenly stopped, rolled over and wagged her tail. Then it got really cold! The next day i found out that my cuz had died that same day, with-in the same hour!

i don't really believe in ghosts and i am VERY skeptical...personally i don't ever want to see one...EVER...but i know animals sense different things. One time my cat started trilling and watching the ceiling and staring intently then started walking along the wall like it was following something and kept trilling. i lifted him up to the spot and he started sniffing. Another time he was just growling for no apparent reason. I've never had a dog do anything weird like that but our chessie knows when a bad storm is coming because she gets all nervous and clingy.

Every day there is a knock on the door or I am stopped in the street and harassed over some deity that I do not believe in and I am sorry to say it is mainly Christians that do this they talk about tolerance and do not see how intolerant of others they are being they talk about loving and compassion of others yet block narrow paths used by the disabled near the hospital while they harass others forcing them onto the busy road they say do not judge others yet without a moment’s hesitation seem free to judge others fitting for harassment preachers of other religions are moved on if attempting such displays why not Christians? Why can’t they be happy with people living happy lives how they wish after all it was what their lord and saviour promotes yet they seem so happy to hypocritically judge others in his name and condemn those who do not think like them worthy of a eternity of damnation. I am sorry if you are not one of these people, but why do you continue with this B.S of forcing others to fear what they fear?!

In my experience, part of being a Christian does leave you feeling compelled to try and share your experience with others. The best thing I can liken it to is, say you've come across this amazing band on youtube or myspace and you know your friends will have never heard of them beforequotes on compassion for others, the first thing you want to do is burn copies of their tunes and get your mates to listen to them. You have something exciting and important in your life, and you want others to be able to understand what it feels like and share those good times. I personally don't talk about my faith unless i'm asked about it, or if conversation comes up with friends, but I suspect a lot of these kind of people genuinely feel they are doing good and are trying to be useful/helpful, and would hate the idea of being a pest.
Then there is also, as other people have mentioned, the fact that full churches mean lively churches (as well as more donations on the collection plate to take a more cynical perspective). And also, i think some are trying to basically score heaven points. Like - if i convert a few people then God will definitely me in. This in my opinion, is a very warped take on a Christian perspective.
Seriously tho? Does this really happen every day?? I'm gonna take a wild punt and guess you're from the USA, probably the South? The idea that God is something/someone to be scared of, and the fear of some kind of eternal damnation, seem to be popular over there. I have no idea why. Again, in my opinion this is a very warped stance from what we know about what Jesus preached. If it's happening every day I would consider moving!
But seriously, why not try and convey your thoughts that you've put here to these people, calmly(!), next time it happens. You might find they are more understanding and apologetic than you think, and will hopefully take your views onboard and be mindful of them in future.

i have this neighbor he is 15/16. his family just moved from vietnam and they don't speak english but he does, there are cars going into the house all hours of the night, and several middle school kids have told me that he is the "dealer" they ofter got big crates loaded into their garage and the people unloading always look nevous. there are usually guards standing on either side of the unloaders. one day his friend was over and they got into an arguement, and the kid took out a golf club and smashed the windows of his friend's car. another time a 13year-old boy called him a chink and he beat him up so badly the police got invloved! however, no arrests have been slon hemade. oh and another thing! his parents co-own a nail slon with 3 other families, the other 3 families have all been busted for drug trafficking! i have called the police several times but i'm very worried because he is violent and dangerous! help me please. i worry about the young children that live next door! please!

I ask this question because, I get ask constantly by GROWN PEOPLE "who do you think will win in a fight"? All because of what the person saw a "Martial Arts Actor" do in a movie. So my question is for all true martial artists,is how do you respond to those questions? I'm not so PC when I do.. ;)

But for those who are naive to think this stuff is real, we can offer thanks or condemnation to hollywood technology, which suggests to impressionable minds that this stuff is possible.
Then again (I'm rambling now) things that are done in Hollywood which look dueable, often dares the martial arts pioneers to experiment with new techniques. That is why Capoeira and XMA are so dynamic, because more than any other I can think of, they challenge its practitioners to create new techniques.
As to the "who will win"... I see only troll value in these types of questions.
They have no personal knowledge nor experienask movie questionsce with martial arts and they can not distinguish fiction, as in a movie, from real life.
You don't want to hire someone like that to work in your business, you do not want to elect someone like that to be a part of your government and you don't want to give someone like that any responsibilities or the opportunity to make important decisions.

Even "true martial artists" have to recognize that they're not going to "win" every fight. Martial arts training improves your odds by teaching you principles; it doesn't turn you into a juggernaut.
Sadly, you have to be patient with the ignorant, because they don't know. It's the stupid -- the ones who once told and shown proof refuse to accept the truth -- that you need to set on blast. And judging from some of the askers on Y!A, there's no shortage of them.
I have several thoughts about this:
* They don't know the difference between real and fantasy martial arts.
* They are just young kids for the most part, or a few adultsask movie questions that are really out of touch with reality.
* They post these because they are trolling and have nothing better to do.
...
The "who do you think would win" questions I usually respond with "neither." If they post a question about a specific technique they've seen. I will usually answer to the best of my limited knowledge.
I do not tell most people that I do Ta Kwon Do. My close friends and family know that these movies are not depicting reality. I guess, if someone asked, I'd just tell them that movie scenes are staged, so it's hard to determine the actors' fighting skills.
Be patient. A lot of people have no exposure to reality, especially in regard to Martial Arts. I try to be polite unless the movie is a total fantasy like Hero, or Matrix. Then I get a little testy!!
If a kid asked questions like that then id say they are developing an inerest in MAs. When full grown people ask those types of questions then theyhave no common sense.

That is why Capoeira and XMA are so dynamic, because more than any other I can think of, they challenge its practitioners to create new techniques.
As to the "who will win"... I see only troll value in these types of questions.
They have no personal knowledge nor experienask movie questionsce with martial arts and they can not distinguish fiction, as in a movie, from real life.
You don't want to hire someone like that to work in your business, you do not want to elect someone like that to be a part of your government and you don't want to give someone like that any responsibilities or the opportunity to make important decisions.

Even "true martial artists" have to recognize that they're not going to "win" every fight. Martial arts training improves your odds by teaching you principles; it doesn't turn you into a juggernaut.
Sadly, you have to be patient with the ignorant, because they don't know. It's the stupid -- the ones who once told and shown proof refuse to accept the truth -- that you need to set on blast. And judging from some of the askers on Y!A, there's no shortage of them.
I have several thoughts about this:
* They don't know the difference between real and fantasy martial arts.
* They are just young kids for the most part, or a few adultsask movie questions that are really out of touch with reality.
* They post these because they are trolling and have nothing better to do.

The "who do you think would win" questions I usually respond with "neither." If they post a question about a specific technique they've seen. I will usually answer to the best of my limited knowledge.
I do not tell most people that I do Ta Kwon Do. My close friends and family know that these movies are not depicting reality. I guess, if someone asked, I'd just tell them that movie scenes are staged, so it's hard to determine the actors' fighting skills.
Be patient. A lot of people have no exposure to reality, especially in regard to Martial Arts. I try to be polite unless the movie is a total fantasy like Hero, or Matrix. Then I get a little testy!!
If a kid asked questions like that then id say they are developing an inerest in MAs. When full grown people ask those types of questions then theyhave no common sense.

i don't normally sneeze very often, even during pollen season or even when i am sick! maybe once a month i will sneeze.... but for the past , maybe, 2 weeks, i've been sneezing everyday..sometimes several times a day..and several sneezes at a time.
there has been nothing new in my environment that would have caused any kind of new allergic reaction.
this may seem a little weird, but when i first took note of the fact that i was sneezing a lot..it first made me think that it might be a sign of pregnancy..even though that sounded even a little silly to me.....but i looked up sneezing and pregnancy on the internet and there is something that is very common, especially in the first trimester, called pregnancy rhinitis......and i am trying to conceive..
i'm not asking if you think i could be pregnant, but rather, if you think this sudden on surge of sneezing could be a symptom..? it's just really unusual to me that i've suddenly started to sneeze so very often..........not to mention i haven't been and don't go outside very often lately
what would you make of texcessive sneezinghis?
i do have other pregnancy symptoms, but im not sure if they are just all in my head or not...some seem very real though..like headaches, cramping and discharge...unlike that of when my period is about to start....also unusual forgetfulness -i've forgotten to turn the oven off twice in little over 24 hours :O scary! and not like me at all!

I never get sick so when I started sneezing and getting stuffed up, that was one of my first clues that I was pregnant. But mine was more the stuffy nose, not the sneezing although looking back on it now, I do really remember having the urge to sneeze a lot (I don't like sneezing!) but didn't actually sneeze. So it very well could be a symptom or it actually just be allergies or a cold coming on. All you can do is test when your ready. Good luck!

I am the director at a LARGE childcare facility and I have my normal questions that I ask at the interviews but I would appreciate some ideas from everyone. What questions do you think a potential teacher should be asked at his/her interview for a large childcare center. Oh and the center cares for children from the ages of 4weeks through 12 years. One of the best questions you can ask anyone for any job is;
"What would you say is your worst quality and why?"
When you ask this question, you can tell right away by body language, reaction, and response what kind of person you're dealing with. After they answer, then ask;
"What do you think you can do to improve on it?"
Their answer to this question will say a lot about their resourcefulness and humility.
You may even ask a more specific question along the same lines, like "What aspect of working in child care do you have the most difficulty with and why?" In my opinion, though, asking the general question about their worst quality is the best way to get a peek at the real person inside. Good luck!

This answer really hinges on how Oregon law interprets the phrase "good cause". If you are being told to do something which is illegal, then you *probably* have good cause to quit. For instance, if you work in a financial institution, and lying to your clients will violate banking laws, then threatening to terminate you for NOT lying to clients is not only unethical, its also probably illegal. we didnHowever, if you worked for a used car dealership, there is no real criminal offense of lying to the clients... (but it may be fraud if they buy a car based on what you tell them), and so no, its probably NOT good cause to quit.
You didn't give us enough information to really work on here. You should consult an attorney who is licensed to practice in Oregon to give you some practical advice on how the law works given your particular situation. Forwe didn a referral, contact your local or state bar association.

I just answer questions that I know something about, I do not waste my time in categories that I hatop funny yahoo answers questionsve no idea about or simply collect points (as some users do) by answering 'idk or 'who cares'. That is what I think about myself, and there some TCs and non TCs that can give brilliant answers and certainly know what they are talking about, of course there is an exception to every top funny yahoo answers questionsrule.

I'm an aunt to a teenage niece, and noticed a couple of days ago when looking at my search history and noticed some YouTube videos on sad stories of suicide is this a warning sign of my niece wanting to commit suicide and what are some the other warning signs that both my brother and myself need to be aware of as well.
Sadly, some people are good at hiding suicidal thoughts from family members and friends and make an active effort to. Reasons behind suicide differ greatly too. Sometimes it's a result of long-standing unhappiness or mental illness or it can be an impulsive act after for example, a loss.
Some warning signs:
*Person becoming clearly very depressed (it would be helpful for you to look up symptoms and signs of depression).
*People expressing feeling suicidal thoughts or that they feel there is no hope. It's a myth that people who are seriously suicidal do not talk about it and I can't remember the exact figure but a high number of people who do complete the act had told people how they are feeling previously.
*A person becoming withdrawn and stopping taking part in things they were previously enjoying.
*Appearing to "tie-up loose ends", make peace with people etc.
*Once someone has decide to commit suicidal they can suddenly become calm and appear to cheer up after being obviously depressed before.
*Self harm that is extreme can suggest a person is becominsuicide warning signsg mentally unstable.
*Evidence of researching suicide methods.
*Expressing intense anger.
*Extreme changes in how the person's personality seems.
*Maybe an obvious one, but finding suicide notes. Suicidal people often spend a long time considering how their loved ones will react and cope and may make trial attempts at writing goodbye letters.
I'd suggest you and your brother sit down with your nice and gently mention what you noticed. Ask her if there's anything she wants to talk about, and offer her the chance to ask questions about suicide and how seeing the stories made her feel. Let her know about other people she could talk to like a school counsellor. Talking about suicide does not make a person more likely to do it if they would not be considering it anyway.

She may know people who are depressed, have listened to music lyrics exploring depressing or seen something in the news that caught her attention.

If she's been thinking about suicide, ask her if she knows how she wants to do it or knows when she wants to do it. If the answer to either of those is yes, then you should certainly be concerned. If she's truly suicidal, you may want to take her to an ER or call 911. Also, tell her that serious suicidal thoughts is a disease, and if she ever feels that bad she should please ask to be taken to an ER. In addition, help her find a therapist, where she'll be able to open up and talk about things she might not feeling comfortable sharing with friends and family.

I've got an idea for a website that I think is practical and will work out. Problem is that I don't know the first thing about starting a website or even starting a business. Also, I don't have the time considering I have a career and a family. So I'm just wondering if there are ways to sell your ideas to web designers or entrepreneurs.
Before even pitching any viable idea to a web developer or entrepreneur you should prepare a confidentiality log in which anyone who is presented with your concept agrees not disclose the idea to third parties and also acknowledges the fact that on a particular day, time, month and year that all concepts presented by you to thei have a website ideam are truly your own invention, etc. That way, you can safeguard yourself from any possible IP thievery down the road by web developers or entrepreneurs.

Its nearly impossible to patent a website - unless it used some very advanced and specific software - so the momi have a website ideaent you talk about it, there is no protection. Your best bet is to get in touch with a developer - hopefully a friend of a friend or something, and see if he'll do the work and become a partner.

chronic insomniaChronic insomnia?
My bf has insomnia and it is really starting to worry me now. He hasn't been to school in for 1 week because he has not slept. It is really worrying me..this is the longest it has gone so far. He has had this for a while and he has been to the doctor for it and he got sleeping pills..but he is allergic to the active ingredient. He drinks tea before he goes to bed that is suppose to help him. Doesn't work. He has tried to take a shower before hand and try to relax. Still doesn't work. This is becoming serious and he had been diagnosed with chronic insomnia and this is really hurting his health. I want to help him, but i don't know how. What should he do? Is there anything I should do? Please. I need answers.
The best thing is to see a Dr or nurse to monitor health through insomnia.
Biofeedback has had some good results.
Some insurances pay for this type of assistance.
Meditation and breathing techniques
Yoga Practice (consider taking several types to-find one that works for you)Check for free sessions in paper or centers.
Diet changes and other lifestyle changes are necessary.
Sit prior to bed in rooms with less light add in 10 minutes increments (timing)

Might sound Silly to him but pink lighting may be helpful before bed. GEmakes pink bulbs.
Pink (bubblegum pink) is used in holding cells and prisons to relax a prisoner there are studies out there for this application. Which lead me to use pink bulbs.. or pink shades..
It would be helpful to know your age group. But, if he is your "bf", you sound young. Tell him that drinking tea before going to bed is like drinking coffee; unless it's decaf. Is he under an extraordinary amount of stress? That could be a reason. He probably won't want to do the things that may relax him. A nice bath, some warm milk, but he will like a nice deep massage with oil! Also, don't eat a big meal before retiring. Make sure the room is dark, cool and quiet; maybe try changing his pillow. I lost my husband five years ago and had insomnia for about six months, until my physician found the med that worked for me....Ambien 5 mg.

The sleeping pills do not really work for me either. He should go back to the doctor, have blood tests done and seek some type of treatment. Maybe the Insomnia is stemming from something else. Also isn't there another type of sleep aide that he can take possibly. The poor guy needs something to help him! Best of luck to him.

Some stupid company sent me a "free" music CD in February of 2007. They tried to collect the debt since then but I've been hard headed coz I don't want to pay money I don't owe. Now that my credit score is in the shams, I'm debating whether I should pay the delinquent/derogatory debt. Yeah yeah I know I should get a written agreement of a payment for deletion but my question is:
WILL IT REALLY IMPROVE MY CREDIT SCORE???

total outstanding debt: ~$1500
% of available credit: ~20%
Amount of delinquent debt: $31 (I know.. I shouldn't have been soo stupid over 30 bucks!)
